Holy crap, a lot of people actually give a shit about improving our community. That is what I walked away with on Tuesday when attending the 2017 Accessibility Innovation Showcase (part of the Invictus Games event) as well as the CivicTech meetup group back to back.
Design has deep roots in the development of solutions that improve the human standard of living. In order to do that, we need to periodically unplug and remember what it is to be human.
How do we move on from thinking about accessibility as “design for them”, and start looking at it as “design for all of us”?
